A trusted voice and familiar face
across the Coachella Valley, Patrick Evans has spent decades connecting with
audiences through television, radio, and live events.
Best known as the
longtime meteorologist for News Channel 3, Patrick brings more than just the
forecast—he brings personality, humor, and a deep connection to the community
he serves.
In addition to his television work,
Patrick is on the air daily in mid-days on Sunny 103.1 FM, where his
engaging style and easy rapport with listeners have made him a staple of the
local airwaves.
He is also one of the region’s most sought-after emcees,
hosting dozens of charitable and civic events each year.
Patrick’s journey began on the East
Coast—born in New Jersey and spending many formative years, including his
college experience, in Virginia. He proudly embraces his Italian heritage,
something that often shines through in his warmth, storytelling, and sense of
humor.
With a journalist’s
instincts and a performer’s ease, Patrick has a natural ability to draw people
in and make them feel comfortable—an essential ingredient in the candid,
unscripted conversations that define Big Conversations, Little Bar.
A longtime business leader and
community advocate, Randy Florence brings vision, curiosity, and a deep
appreciation for people’s stories to the show. Before his tenure as CEO of the Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce,
Randy built a successful career in
banking, serving as an executive with U.S. Bank’s home building division, where
he worked closely with developers and played a role in shaping growing
communities.
Originally from the Bay Area in
Northern California, Randy eventually made his way to the Coachella Valley,
where he became deeply involved in both its business landscape and civic life.
His leadership extended beyond the Chamber, including serving as Chairman of
the Board for the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership, helping guide regional
economic development efforts.
Randy’s passion for
storytelling began with his earlier podcast, Coachella Valley Chronicles,
and evolved into the creation of Big Conversations, Little Bar.
His
thoughtful, inquisitive approach allows conversations to go beyond the surface,
uncovering the experiences and perspectives that make each guest unique.
Executive Producer, distributor, and
storyteller behind the scenes, John McMullen is the engine that powers Big
Conversations, Little Bar.
A seasoned broadcaster and media executive,
John brings more than 30 years of experience in News, Talk, and Sports content
management and on-air work.
Prior to coming to the Coachella
Valley, John served as Senior Director for News, Talk & Entertainment
Programming at Sirius Satellite Radio, working in both New York City and
Los Angeles during a pivotal time in the evolution of digital broadcasting.
His
career also includes operating a group of radio stations for Morris
Communications upon his arrival in Palm Springs, further cementing his role as
a key figure in the region’s media landscape.
Today, as the steward of the historic Mutual
Broadcasting System brand, John has built a platform dedicated to
innovative, independent programming.
His role on the show goes far beyond
production—he helps shape its voice, structure, and reach, ensuring each
episode sounds as compelling as the conversations themselves.
